B. English Subject Score

3) For students who had moved ahead a grade, the scores of the first and the second semester of the 3rd Grade are applied to the
   first and the second semester scores of the 2nd Grade.
4) For early graduate students and the expected early graduate students, their scores of the first and second semester of the 2nd
   Grade are applied to the first and the second semester of the 3rd Grade.
5) For applicants who have studied abroad and partially lack scores for the 2nd and/or 3rd Grade, their missing scores will be
   substituted with the existing scores as described by the High School Admission Evaluation Guidelines of the Seoul Metropolitan
   Office of Education.
6) For applicants who passed the middle school level National Qualification Exam, their English subject rank percentile score is
   computed by using the rank percentile score of English subject in the Comparative Test administered by the Seoul Metropolitan
   Office of Education.
7) For applicants who have studied abroad and do not have student records in Korean middle schools, the grades in their
   transcripts from the foreign schools are converted into scores decided by the Seoul Global High School Admissions Committee.
8) In case there are applicants with the same scores in the first screening process, all the applicants within 1.5 times the quota for
   each admission category are selected.
9) Students who lack the scores for the second semester of the 3rd Grade are ineligible to apply with the exception of the students
   from the areas where there are neither global high schools nor foreign language high schools and whose midterm scores for the
   second semester of the 3rd Grade are issued by the middle school principals in place of the complete 2nd semester scores.


C. Attendance Score
1) The number of unexcused absences is subtracted from the total English subject score.
2) Three unexcused tardiness or leave (or a combination of both) result in one unexcused absence.
3) Applicants without school records at Korean schools will be given the average attendance score of all applicants.


D. Interview

2) Screening Criteria
  a. Motives for Application: How the applicant become interested in Seoul Global High School and what he or she has been doing
     to be accepted.
  b. Course of Study and Career Plan: How the applicant has been planning his or her course of study and what he or she has
     been doing to follow the plan, the applicant's study and career plan after admission to Seoul Global High School.
  C. Character: volunteer work and hands-on experiences while attending middle school and one's reflection on the experiences.

3) If the Statement of Purpose is found to be plagiarized or is suspected of plagiarism, the applicant will be penalized.

4) If the scores of standardized exams, prizes at competitions, certificates, or licenses are mentioned in the Statement of Purpose,
   evaluation points will be deducted.



Additional Information A. Applicants to Seoul Global High School cannot apply to any other special purpose high schools (foreign language high schools,
   science high schools, global or international high schools, high schools specialized in arts, and physical education high
   schools) or autonomous private high schools.
B. Applicants to Seoul Global High School whose acceptance is not confirmed cannot apply to other high schools nor can the
   applicants to other high schools whose acceptance is not confirmed can apply to Seoul Global High School.
C. Applicants who have submitted application forms and other necessary documents should also submit their middle school records,
   including records for the second semester of third grade. The first page of the middle school records must be marked with the
   stamp stating that the records are authentic, and the middle school records must be stamped with the official school seal
   overlapping each page.
D. Applicants are responsible for any disadvantages caused by mistakes in filling out forms or by submitting insufficient
   documentation. In the case that any information included in the submitted documents is discovered to be untrue, acceptance may
   be revoked.
E. In the event that applicants do not conform to the aim of the school's establishment or are judged to have obstacles to studying at
   Seoul Global High School, the school admissions committee can cancel the admissions.
F. Other items not specified in this admission guide are subject to corresponding statutes and policies of the Seoul Metropolitan
   Office of Education and the decisions of the Seoul Global High School Admissions Committee.
G. Vacancies due to non-registration of successful applicants will be filled with the strongest applicants who failed in the initial
   admission process.
H. Applicants who belong to the Special Admission category may apply to admission within quota if they have their Standard-based
   Assessment Scores for English Subjects in Korean middle schools.
I. Students who are admitted through Admission for Students with Special Socioeconomic Circumstances (limited to economically
   disadvantaged students only) and meet the financial aid criteria can be eligible for financial support.
