• Students who are scheduled to graduate middle school in Seoul and are eligible for economically disadvantaged applicants

• Recipients of social welfare
• Children from single parent families who are protected under the Single Parent Family Assistant Act (Article 5) or Single Parent Family Assistance Enforcement
• Students whose families belong to the level immediately above the minimum cost of living or the next higher level Regulations (Article 3)
• Students recommended by principals

Socially Disadvantaged Applicants

• Children from multicultural families (limited only to children who were born from a parent whose nationality from birth is Korean and another parent who has immigrated to Korea through transnational marriage)
• North Korean refugees who are enlisted in the List of High School Special Admission at the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education or children of North Korean refugees
• Children from farming or fishing regions (limited only to those who have spent the entire three-year middle school course of study in Eup or Myeon and have lived with both parents in the same area)
• Applicants with two or more siblings: Only one child from this type of family can apply within the category (for all special purpose high schools such as global high schools and foreign language high schools). They cannot exceed 30% of the total acceptance for students with special socioeconomic circumstances.
• Children of the disabled (Disability Level 1 through 3)
• Teen heads of households
• Children of the dead for righteous causes
